Looks like you want to know more :)
Happy to fill you in. Here's some background to help you get to know me a bit better.
Professional Context
Since 2015, I've gained international experience in product design (UX/UI), graphic design, and marketing research with exposure to corporate, agency, startup, and freelance settings. In that time, I've been able to explore multiple business sectors such as health tech, green tech, and business services.
I'm currently the User Experience Designer & Researcher at Syndio Health, an online community for people living with chronic illness. However, as I now enter the next phase of my career, I am actively pursuing new roles in global companies that focus on human-centered design and value professional development and mentorship opportunities.
Feel free to check out my CV.
Education
I earned a degree in international studies at the University of Michigan in May 2020. This major's interdisciplinary nature allowed me to curate my own academic path and dive into a range of courses like product and graphic design, linguistics and translation, psychology and anthropology, etc. I even got to throw in a Congolese dance class my last year.
Ultimately, my university experience taught me to better understand people and how we interact and evolve with our modern society. I learned to always strive for excellence while remembering to not take myself too seriously... Let's just say I'm not a natural at Congolese dancing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mindset
I consider attitude to be one of the most powerful constructs we have the freedom to control for ourselves as individuals. So I believe we should constantly challenge ourselves to stay avid and humble learners, positively open and adaptable to change no matter our stage in life or career.
As a professional, this conviction pushes me to leverage "failures" as opportunities to learn and advance more prudently by listening to, empathizing with, and problem-solving for users. And as a person in general, it reminds me to roll with those punches, always staying grateful and looking for the good within the difficult or unfamiliar.
"The joy of tasting different cultures is it gives you a broad perspective." ~Henry Golding
