Stakeholder Interviews
Observations
I started with a purely observational interview, having Julie share her screen and think aloud as she ran through her workflows. The subsequent interview consisted of open-ended questions surrounding her goals and potential points of frustration so I could generate a user persona and problem statements.
Questions
1. Tell me about your role, responsibilities, and background.
2. Walk me through your writing process.
3. What are your goals? What do you like about your job?
4. What are your biggest frustrations?
5. If you had a magic wand, what would you change?

We need a more efficient and less error-prone system, or else we won’t be able to scale once we launch. For example, there are so many synonyms to describe symptoms, side effects, and benefits. I’m already noticing so many redundancies. It’ll be so much harder to account for with multiple writers."
Julie is a remote content writer who lacks an efficient system to reference, revise, and write medically accurate content that is intuitive to search and simple to understand for users of varied backgrounds.
