There is a sweet spot between freedom and restriction.
From assessing competitor downfalls, interviews, and survey results, it became clear that users need to be able to explore and discuss topics freely without being restricted by a platform’s design. For example, many users complained that other platforms were too siloed and broke out information and discussion into separate sections. This limited a user’s ability to easily learn and explore relevant topics in one space.
However, we also realized that an overly open structure enables too much freedom, making the platform feel disorganized and chaotic. Therefore, we decided to organize content through a simple tagging system where all users would see content in the same place (their home feed). However, the content would be structured and made relevant by only showing content with tags that relate to their profile (conditions, topics followed, etc).

"Diana has been an incredible UX designer to work with and manage across multiple projects. She exhibits a constant hunger to hone her skills and expand her knowledge. She is always asking questions, looking for feedback, and researching best practices. She is committed to putting her best work out there, and it’s clear that she sees her work as an extension and reflection of herself.
Additionally, she has a natural curiosity to understand different kinds of people and an innate aptitude for connecting and empathizing with them, which makes her adept at conducting user interviews. As a member of our small team, she’s always ready to volunteer for different tasks that often require learning a new skill.
Lastly, few people in my experience have Diana’s eye for visuals. Her artistic endeavors definitely benefit her UX/UI work, resulting in beautiful yet functional designs. We’ve been fortunate to have Diana on our team, and I’m confident she’ll be a great asset on any other. We’ll miss her greatly, but I’m excited to see the many things that she will, without a doubt, accomplish."
